Unique Activities at Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando is a complete entrainment and dining complex with something for everyone at every age.  This amazing resort complex attracts visitors from across the globe who travel to Orlando to spend weeks of family fun.

During a visit to Universal Orlando, you may need some downtime from the busy theme parks.  Here are a few little known "out of the box" activities to enjoy while spending time at Universal.

Loaded Fries

If you haven't yet stayed at the Loews Cabana Bay Beach Resort, you may not be aware that there is a functioning bowling alley right inside the resort!  Galaxy Bowl is a small bowling alley which also has a restaurant and full bar with a casual feel and a sports bar type of menu.  This is a great activity for rainy days or beating the heat of Florida.

Sip and Stroll

The fun doesn't stop when the parks close.  In the evenings at Universal CityWalk, there are several stands which offer a variety of cocktails. Just like the New Orleans French Quarter, at Universal CityWalk, you are actually allowed to stroll with your cocktail (in a plastic cup).

Whether you fancy a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's or a Margarita at Antojito's, grab a "to-go" libation and stroll CityWalk.  It's a great way to "people watch" as the fun amps up each night!  *You must be 21 years of age to purchase alcoholic drinks and you are not allowed to leave the property with one of these adult cocktails.

Tarot Card Reading

Star Soul's Gift Shop
Exit the typical theme park experience of rides and show and enter the bohemian mystical experience at Star Souls in the Lost Continent at Islands of Adventure.  A reading with a psychic will illuminate aspects of your fate.  You can also get a temporary henna tattoo and shop for unique items.

Gelato Tasting

Stratiatella and Nutella Pistachio Gelato, Urban Pantry in Aventura Hotel
Few items taste better than that of good Italian gelato.  Of course the first place to look for gelato is at the Italian Riviera themed onsite resort, the Loews Portofino Bay Resort.  At this resort, The Gelateria combines with a Starbucks for sweet icy sensations.

At Universal Studios, visit Guido's Gelato and Italian Ices, located inside Louie's Italian Cafe or at the walk up window.

Delicious Gelato flavors can also be found at Urban Pantry, the food court in the lobby of Universal's Aventura Hotel.

For something out of the ordinary, immerse yourself in Italian culture at the Bocce Ball Court at the Loews Portofino Bay Resort.  This court is in a more secluded area making it a great activity to get away from all of the crowds.

Get Rum Fashioned

At Strong Water Tavern in Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, there are no bartenders.  What they have instead is Rum Captains!  Strong Water Tavern has an extensive list of high quality rums.  The Rum Captains have a unique skill of creating your favorite cocktail, no matter what libation is normally used and recreate it with rum.  Whether you like Old Fashioned's, Martini's or tequila drinks, these can be "fashioned" with rum!

S'Mores by the Fire

The fire pit at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. You can purchase s'mores sticks and the makings for s'mores at the New Dutch Trading Co. inside the hotel.

Also at Sapphire Falls Resort and Cabana Bay Beach Resort, you can partake in a sweetly satisfying activity, Poolside S'mores!  The fire pits are located near the pools at each resort and S'mores kits are available for purchase at New Dutch Trading Company at Sapphire Falls and Bayliner Diner at Cabana Bay.
