Top 5 Reasons to Travel Solo to Universal Orlando

Top 5 Reasons to Travel Solo to Universal Orlando

On my journey as a Universal Orlando travel writer, I often travel to this vacation destination alone.  As I walk around the theme park resort area, I have often felt that I'm the only one here by myself.  However, I've learned through some of the Universal Orlando Facebook groups, that traveling solo is actually quite common!
In my case, my spouse is not a theme park junkie as I am.  He works a full time job and would rather hike in nature in his spare time than go for the type of entertainment which is offered at theme parks.  This even prompted my to write my second book, Escape from the Mouse Trap, a book offering other activities in Orlando besides theme parks.
I now know that lots of travelers not only travel solo to Universal Orlando, but actually prefer this style of travel.
Listed below are the top 5 reasons to travel solo to Universal Orlando:

1.    The decisions are yours!
When you decide to travel solo, everything you do is what YOU want to do!  You don't have to accommodate anyone else's differing needs or desires.  If your significant other likes to sleep late but you want to get up early, the choice is yours!

2.    You can use the Single Rider Lines.
Line queues are a major problem at Universal Orlando, especially during busy times.  However, what you may not know is that most attractions offer a Single Rider line.  In using this feature, you just might cut your wait time in half!

Loaded Jacket Potato, London Taxi Hut, The London Waterfront, Universal Studios Florida
2.    Eat what and where you want!
In my case, my spouse never wants to eat anywhere but a sit down restaurant.  I love this type of eatery also, but you just might miss some of the best snacks and treats available.  From the loaded Jacket Potatoes (pictured) in the London Waterfront at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, to the Freezin' D'oh-nut Sundae in the Simpsons area, when you travel solo, you can eat what you want!  Learn more about fantastic eats at Universal Orlando in my book, Fantastic Eats and Where to Find Them at Universal Orlando

3.   Choose your attractions.
When you travel solo, what you see and do is your choice.  I am not such a thrill ride person, but I love shows and even kids attractions!  When I travel solo, if I want to ride the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train or enjoy Universal's Horror Make-Up Show, I get to choose how I spend my time!
The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Islands of Adventure

Mythos Restaurant, Islands of Adventure-the best theme park restaurant!

Smoked Turkey Leg, available all over Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

Nothing better than enjoying a Frozen Butterbeer on a hot day.  Hogs Head Pub, The Wizaarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade, Islands of Adventure

The Big Pink, Lard Lad, Springfield and available at the Universal Stores.

Lush landscaped garden paths to the onsite resorts

Squid Ink Seafood, VIVO Italian Kitchen, Universal CityWalk

4.    Stay where you want.
Hard Rock Hotel

One thing I love about visiting Universal Orlando is staying at the different onsite hotels.  Each of these hotels are fantastically themed with great amenities.  I often change hotels during my visit to enjoy the different hotel vibes.  Check out my Youtube playlist, Universal Orlando Hotel Room Tours.  Link below.

5.    Meeting other solo travelers.
What you may not know, is that there are many Facebook groups dedicated to Universal Orlando.  If you would like meet up with other solo travelers, just post on one of these groups and you might meet Orlando locals or travelers from anywhere in the world!
