Top 5 Things to Do with NO LINES in Hollywood at Universal Studios Florida

Contrary to popular belief, there are many things to do at Universal Orlando that don't include riding roller coasters.  Universal Studios Florida was actually a working set when it first opened in 1990.  The authentic sets in the Hollywood and New York sections have been the backdrop in many films and television shows.

What is there to do if you are not an adrenalin junkie? Here are five things to do with NO STANDING IN LINES!

1.  Read the stars on Hollywood Boulevard

Did you know that just like on Hollywood Boulevard in California, the sets on the street of the same name at Universal Studios Florida have authentic Hollywood Stars.  While strolling down this "boulevard," check out the stars on both sides of the street.

2.  Grab an Ice Cream at Schwab's Pharmacy

Perusing the stars on Hollywood Boulevard might raise your temperature on a hot summer day so the perfect respite is a frozen concoction at Schwab's.  The facade looks so authentic to the icon it represents, that you can just imagine rubbing elbows with Hollywood starlets such as Marilyn Monroe (her character actually makes appearances right down the street)!

3.  Meet Characters on Hollywood Boulevard

Speaking of characters, Hollywood Boulevard is one of the best spots in Orlando to meet your favorite characters.  The Simpsons often park their R.V. and when you see the Mystery Van, you can be sure that Shaggy, Scooby, Velma and the gang are nearby.  Universal's Superstar Parade also occurs twice daily with Secret Life of Pets, SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, Madagascar characters, Shrek and Fiona.  And don't forget the stars of the parade, the Minions!  The parade stops in front of Mel's Drive In and is the best place to interact with many characters in a short period of time.

4.  Check out classic cars at Mel's Drive In

Speaking of Mel's Drive In, while burgers are flipping inside the diner, on the outside are some incredible vintage cars!

5. Check Out Classic Horror Memorabilia

While waiting for Beetlejuice's favorite comedy show, Universal's Horror Make-Up Show, peruse the lobby for classic horror memorabilia including movie posters and props from some of the most iconic vintage horror films ever produced.

Honorable Mention

Check out all of the building facades and store windows!  There is amazing details in these sets.  Note: Notice in the window on the right side of Pantages Theater (Horror Make Up Show).  There is a memorial to Blaine Kern, the notable New Orleans Mardi Gras float designer who consulted to create the Mardi Gras Celebration.
